United Way accomplishes fundraising goal, invites community to celebration

The United Way of the Pennyrile is inviting the community to celebrate them accomplishing their $700,000 fundraising goal for their partner agencies and to present awards to those who played a vital role in the nonprofit’s 2023-2024 campaign.

In September 2023, United Way Campaign Co-Chairs, Chris Jung and Cody Noffsinger announced their goal of raising $700,000 for 18 nonprofits across the Pennyrile region which has been completed.

A news release from the United Way shares that the Beverly Whitfield Award and the J. William Flowers Award will be presented to individuals made a profound impact on the campaign and the community. Awards will also be presented to organizations for their employee campaigns and to county businesses that have had positive impacts on this year’s campaign.

United Way of the Pennyrile President, Betsy Bond says Noffsinger and Jung promised to dance at the finale if the goal was met, so those interested will just have to come and find out what they do at the celebration.

The annual celebration and awards presentation is on Tuesday, February 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the James E. Bruce Convention Center and is free to the public.
