Two-vehicle wreck on Eagle Way Bypass results in injuries

A two-vehicle wreck occurred on Eagle Way Bypass on Monday as a motorist was reportedly attempting to turn onto Turtle Creek Drive.

According to a report from Hopkinsville Police, a male teenager of Lafayette was driving east on Eagle Way Bypass when he stopped at a turning lane to turn left onto Turtle Creek Drive. Across from the teenager was a witness who was traveling west on the bypass and stopped in a left turning lane.

The witness reportedly told officers they saw the teenager’s vehicle and a vehicle driven by Cristine Furey of Cadiz that was traveling west on the Bypass. As the teenager went to turn onto Turtle Creek Drive, he reportedly told officers that he did not see Furey’s vehicle traveling which resulted in the pair colliding.

The teenager’s vehicle came into contact with the front driver’s side of Furey’s vehicle and caused her vehicle to exit the roadway and stop in a ditch.

Furey was reportedly unable to give officers a report as she coming in and out of consciousness and had to be transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for her injuries. The teenager reported having knee pain, but refused to be transported to a hospital.
