A residence was significantly damaged by fire Tuesday night on East 17th Street in Hopkinsville.
According to Hopkinsville Fire and EMS Lt. Payton Rogers, firefighters responded to the 200 block oof East 17th and found heavy smoke and flames coming from the vacant residence upon arrival. No one was found inside of the building.
The fire was contained to the front portion of the home, but it did sustain significant damage.
No firefighters were injured during the incident and the investigator is working to determine the cause of the blaze.
