Hopkinsville man sentenced to federal prison on meth, fentanyl distribution charges

A Hopkinsville man has been sentenced to 11 and a half years in federal prison on methamphetamine and fentanyl distribution charges.

According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky, 26-year-old Shaveon Richardson of Hopkinsville will serve 11 years and six months in prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release, for three counts of distribution of meth, one count of distribution of fentanyl and possession with the intent to distribute meth. 

The charges were incurred in May and June of 2022, where Richardson distributed over 50 grams of meth in Christian County, provided another person with approximately one pound of meth and helped another person in the distribution of 96 fentanyl pills. 

There is no parole in the federal system.
