Local man charged with burglary, served with warrant for rape

A Hopkinsville man was served with several warrants, including for first-degree rape, following investigation into shoplifting at the East Ninth Street Dollar General. 

According to the Hopkinsville police report, officers responded to the store on Sunday for reports that 18-year-old Jayden Drake of Hopkinsville, who had been previously trespassed from the location, had stolen merchandise from the store and fled. Contact was made with Drake nearby and he was taken into custody and charged with third-degree burglary. 

He was also served with warrants for probation violation, non-payment of fines and first-degree rape. Information about the rape charge was not immediately available.
