Sanctuary, Inc. promotes peace with holiday ornaments, shares family support needs

This holiday season, regional nonprofit Sanctuary, Inc. is promoting peace and raising money to support their work with holiday ornaments and highlighting how the community can support those the nonprofit serves this holiday season.

Sanctuary, Inc. is a domestic violence and sexual assault victim advocacy and resource nonprofit that operates in the Pennyrile region. Nonprofit, Executive Director, Heather Lancaster appeared on WHOP recently to talk about a fundraiser the nonprofit is hosting this holiday season.

Sanctuary, Inc. partnered with Collective 270 to make wooden holiday ornaments that say “peace.” The ornament is silver and hangs from a purple ribbon, which is the national color for domestic violence awareness. Lancaster says the ornaments cost $20 and can be bought at local stores such as Milkweed, Corner Coffeehouse, Farmer’s Daughter Boutique and more.

Lancaster says the ornament is fitting for the nonprofit’s mission as they work to support victims of violence and ending violence can start locally.

Along with their holiday ornament fundraiser, Lancaster says they hosting some holiday festivities to support those they serve and their families.

Lancaster says they are accepting adult gift donations, such as essentials like bed sheets, pillows, hygiene items and meal sponsorships. More information about their needs this holiday season visit thesanctuaryinc.com.
