Pembroke Elementary School will have a new principal, after the Site-Based Decision-Making Council selected Jason Russell to serve in that position.
According to a news release, Russell has served as the assistant principal for the school since 2015 and began his teaching career with Christian County Public Schools in 1999 at South Christian Elementary, where he was the physical education teacher. In 2004, he joined Pembroke Elementary as an assistant principal before becoming interim principal at Lacy Elementary.
Russell holds a Rank I certification and a master’s degree in school administration from Murray State University. He will fill the position of retiring Principal Dana Gary.
Russell says, “I am very humbled and honored to serve as the next principal of Pembroke Elementary School. Together with our outstanding educators, dedicated staff, and supportive parents, we will continue to create an environment where every child can flourish academically, socially, and emotionally. I look forward to leading Pembroke Elementary as we build on our strong foundation to provide a positive and enriching educational experience for all of our students. Go Owls!”
