Kentucky State Police are investigating the death of inmate at the Kentucky State Penitentiary in Lyon County.
According to a news release, KSP was notified on Friday that staff with the penitentiary was performing CPR on an inmate—identified as 31-year-old Ivan Orantes-Pierce of Louisville—and had called for emergency services. The Lyon County Coroner was called to the scene a short time later, who declared Orantes-Pierce deceased.
Currently, foul play is not suspected, and an autopsy had been scheduled for Sunday. The investigation remains ongoing.
