Festival of Trees organizers prepare for public open

The Pennyroyal Center’s Festival of Trees launched on Friday and continuing on Saturday the fundraiser will open to the public for those interested in entering the Christmas tree raffle and supporting the center.

Thirty-two trees designed by local organizations line the inside of the Venue on Main in downtown Hopkinsville at 801 South Main Street. On Saturday while attendees browse the trees, Pennyroyal Center Training and Outreach Coordinator, Zoey Edwards says they will also have a vendor market, free hot chocolate and a photo backdrop set up for taking festive pictures.

To enter into the raffle, tickets cost $1 each and in front of each tree is a bag where those interested in winning a specific tree can write their contact information on the ticket and drop into the bag. Edwards says they have a wide array of trees available with unique themes and the winners will go home with the tree as well as everything displayed with it.

The funds raised will benefit many of the programs hosted by the Pennyroyal Center such as Trace Industries, Genesis East, Genesis West, Trilogy Center for Women and their Veterans Center.

On Saturday, the Festival of Trees will be open to public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the raffle winners set to be announced at 4 p.m. and tree pickup will be on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
