In a tradition that’s reaching nearly four decades of community service, Pioneers, Inc. will be handing out free Thanksgiving dinners on Thursday at their location in Hopkinsville.
Speaking with WHOP, Pioneer Arnold Lynch says it all began with Walton Smith in the 1980’s when he began the initiative to help those who couldn’t manage Thanksgiving meals on their own, and they’ve been doing it ever since.
They’ll start giving out the free meals at 10 a.m. to whoever is in need of one, and Lynch says it’s a drive-up event where attendees will get a dinner with all the traditional Thanksgiving favorites.
He encouraged participants to not line up early, as they won’t start handing out meals until 10 a.m. promptly and they’ll make sure no one misses out.
The Pioneers, Inc. complex is located at 904 North Main Street in Hopkinsville.
