Jung reflects on time with Visit Hopkinsville, community

After calling Visit Hopkinsville home for five and a half years, Hopkinsville Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Brooke Jung will be bidding farewell to both that position and the community she loves.

Appearing on WHOP recently, Jung says the thing that has always amazed her most about Hopkinsville and Christian County is how welcoming and generous people here are, and she sees that support reflected in how much local tourism efforts have grown.

She says in the last five years, Christian County has seen a real increase in economic impact due to tourism.

One thing she will always hold dear is the Total Solar Eclipse of 2017—it may have been before she was Executive Director, but it was a huge event that she helped helm that continues to impact the community.

Jung is heading to Visit Albuquerque from here, and while she’s excited for the new adventure, she says Hopkinsville will always be home in her heart and it’s been an honor to be a part of.

Joining her in New Mexico is husband Chris Jung, who has served in various roles in the community, including as Public Information Officer for the City of Hopkinsville, Marketing and Events Coordinator at the Sportsplex, a sports reporter at the Kentucky New Era, and more, and Banjo, Blue Heeler extraordinaire.

A farewell reception was held at the Visitor’s Center Thursday, where friends and community members bid farewell to the Jungs, where a tree was planted in her honor, with a plaque placed in front of it showcasing appreciation for years of dedication to the Convention and Visitors’ Bureau.
