Police determine no threat at Madisonville middle school

The Madisonville Police Department has confirmed that there was no active threat to students at James Madison Middle School, following investigation into a possible threat Wednesday.

According to a news release, Madisonville police were made aware of concerns regarding that threat had been circulating about possible school violence at the middle school. The Criminal Investigations Division conducted an investigation into the situation and determined there was no active threat to students or staff.

Law enforcement personnel were on scene from the time the first student arrived at the school.
