Two hurt in separate wrecks involving deer

Two separate wrecks from Saturday that sent the drivers to Jennie Stuart Medical Center involved deer.

According to the Christian County Sheriff’s Department, one wreck happened on the Eagle Way Bypass near Sorrell Lane, when a deer ran into the path of a vehicle operated by 68-year-old Kathryn Trapp of Hopkinsville, and she was unable to avoid a collision.

Trapp was transported to Jennie Stuart for possible injuries to her hips and chest.

Another wreck involving a deer occurred Saturday on the Pennyrile Parkway near the 18 mile marker, when a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Ethan Stokes of Crofton struck a deer that entered the roadway.  The collision caused the vehicle to turn into the median, and then it overturned.

Stokes was transported to Jennie Stuart for pain in his legs and head.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
