Todd Fiscal Court approves agreements with Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force, PADD

Todd County Fiscal Court approved measures in regards to a possible zoning and planning commission, a partnership with Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force and a safer streets program.

Todd County Sheriff Tracy White requested they enter into an agreement with the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force which would allow the Todd County Sheriff’s Department to host a task force detective that would work narcotic cases in the area. He says the state would reimburse a portion of the salary and the agent would be employed through the sheriff’s office.

Magistrates approved the agreement unanimously. Then, County Attorney Jeff Traughber asked for the approval of two county planning commissioners—Bill Carver and Ethan Chester—to serve on the joint planning commission.

Fiscal Court approved those appointments. In other action, magistrates also approved a resolution to partner with the Pennyrile Area Development District and, with the use of grant money, investigate local streets and roadways and determine what can be done to make problem areas safer.

Todd County Jailor Jeff Penick gave a quick report, saying there are currently 135 inmates currently housed in the Todd County Jail—107 of those are state inmates.
