Madisonville breaks ground on retail development, announces Hobby Lobby and Aldi

The City of Madisonville broke ground on the newest retail development coming to the community on Whittington Drive—the Town Center Madisonville by Brewer Retail Development, LLC.

During a ceremony Thursday morning, officials made the announcement that the 155,000 square foot development will soon be home to a Hobby Lobby and an Aldi Grocery Store, with more tenants of the facility to be announced in the coming weeks. Those are a part of phase two of the project—phase one included the announcement of a Starbucks and an Aspen Dental.

Madisonville Mayor Kevin Cotton says this is a sign of just how much Madisonville has grown, and how much more growing it intends to do.

Hal McCoy is involved in the project and says while Hopkinsville is his home, he considers Madisonville his second home, and he’s pleased to see the development get underway and bring more opportunity to the community.

Phase three of the project will be a restaurant, more shops and possibly a hotel, with more information to be unveiled as it becomes available.
