The Tennessee Valley Authority and the Kentucky Science Center are teaming up to providing traveling energy education in Kentucky, starting with Fort Campbell schools on Thursday.
The program is called Captain Current versus The Electricity Vampires, and it includes a science show and hands-on activities—including up to ten activity stations that introduce students to sources of energy, how energy is generated and transmitted, and how we can become better ambassadors of energy use. Students will get to follow along with Captain Current in a quest to defeat the Electricity Vampire in a 45-minute assembly program performance.
TVA Regional Vice President in Kentucky and Middle Tennessee Justin Maierhofer says, ““TVA is proud to partner with the Kentucky Science Center to inspire the next generation of leaders and teach them about energy generation and efficiency. This program offers kids a fun, interactive way to learn energy concepts and how TVA and its 153 local power companies provide power across the Tennessee Valley with special thanks to Fort Campbell for hosting this inaugural event.”
