The Clarksville Police Department is seeking a suspect who reportedly used bear spray on a Clarksville police officer on Monday.
According to a news release, a group of women were alleged to be shoplifting from the TJ Maxx on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard and when approached by an officer, 25-year-old Daniell Pitt of Nashville reportedly sprayed him with bear spray. Then all suspects fled the area in a black Dodge charger.
The vehicle was later located in Nashville and 18-year-old Makiya Givens of Nashville was taken into custody, but police are still seeking Pitt.
She was warrants for aggravated assault on a first responder, felony theft and felony evading out for her arrest. This is still an active and ongoing investigation and detectives are working to identify the other suspects involved in this case.
CPD is asking for anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Pitt to call 911.
