After a lengthy closure to allow for road work at a rail crossing in Madisonville, that section of road is set to reopen on Friday.
According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the closure was west of downtown Madisonville on U.S. 41-A at the intersection of West Noel Avenue and was to accommodate construction at a CSX rail crossing.
The work began on August 22 and is expected to be complete, weather permitting, by Friday.
