Two charged following stabbing incident on Pyle Lane

Two Hopkinsville residents are facing assault charges following a stabbing incident on Pyle Lane early Wednesday morning.

According to the Hopkinsville police report, officers responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Pyle Lane for reports of a stabbing and upon arrival, made contact with 41-year-old Jermain McKinney, who told officers he had been stabbed in the shoulder by 37-year-old Kiera Jackson.

Investigation determined that McKinney and Jackson had reportedly gotten into an argument about children, with McKinney telling officers he was trying to get his belongings and leave, but Jackson contends he refused to leave.

McKinney allegedly grabbed Jackson by the hair and began hitting her on the head—Jackson grabbed a kitchen knife and a struggle ensued.  That’s when they reportedly fell to the floor and at some point, McKinney was stabbed in the right shoulder.

Jackson was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, and McKinney was charged with fourth-degree assault.
