Hopkinsville woman charged with robbery

A Hopkinsville woman has been charged with first-degree robbery after she allegedly threatened to stab employees while stealing merchandise from Food Giant in August.

According to the arrest warrant served by Hopkinsville Police against 56-year-old Bobbie Clark, she allegedly went into the Food Giant on August 25 and threatened to stab two employees with a pair of scissors when they tried to stop her from leaving the store with stolen items.  She reportedly filled a tote bag with meat.

The employees confronted her and took the tote bag from her, and she fled the store to a waiting vehicle.  During a search of the scene, officers reportedly found a wig, slippers and a cellphone discarded by Clark, and the tote bag contained a debit card and a social security card belonging to her.

Investigation determined that Clark had allegedly stolen meat from Food Lion earlier in the day, fleeing that location in the same outfit and the same vehicle.

She was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery, tampering with physical evidence and theft by unlawful taking.
