A chance of rain and then sunny, fall-like weather in store this week

If you’ve enjoyed the taste of fall-like weather recently then you’re in luck—that trend is likely to continue this week, after a cold front moves through and puts temperatures below average.

In the weekly weather conference call, Justin Gibbs with the National Weather Service in Paducah says the weather is looking downright nice this week—a cold front moves through the area Monday night into Tuesday, bringing a chance of rain, but after that, things look sunny and nice.

Temperatures could be roughly 5-to-10 degrees cooler than average across the region.

Gibbs says the next couple of weeks are looking to maybe warm back up a little, with precipitation chances hanging out near normal.

Gibbs says they’re keeping an eye on the river levels as the drought begins to creep back into some areas in southern Illinois and southwestern Missouri.
