Efforts are underway to get a cell service tower that was damaged in August replaced as quickly as possible, with temporary measures in place in the meantime.
According to county officials, AT&T has a mobile cell site in place in the Lafayette area, which is the area most impacted by the loss of the tower. According to the owner of the tower, a replacement has been purchased, but it could be another four-to-six weeks for it be delivered. The hope is total restoration will be complete in approximately 8 weeks.
In the meantime, officials are working to find additional remedies with other towers in the area.
