Butterfly Festival takes over Oak Grove Saturday

Oak Grove’s Butterfly Festival takes over the Oak Grove Memorial Walking Trail Saturday starting at 11 a.m. and going until the big butterfly release at 4 p.m.

Ryan Clark with Oak Grove Tourism says that along with the famous and much anticipated butterfly release, the award-winning festival will also have a multitude of activities and family-friendly fun that people can enjoy.

That includes a new event to the festival this year—the Wild World of Animals stage show—which will showcase an array of animals that folks may not normally get to see.

Clark says they’ll release their largest amount of Monarch butterflies ever.

There will be food vendors on hand for the event and the festival is free to attend.  People are asked to leave their pets at home for this one and to not bring in outside alcohol, but they are encouraged to bring sunscreen, lawn chairs or blankets and coolers are allowed, though they will be checked.
