(Fukoka, Japan) — Olympic champion Katie Ledecky now holds more individual world titles than any other swimmer. Ledecky tied and broke Michael Phelps’ record this weekend at the World Aquatic Championships in Japan. She claimed her 16th world title and passed Phelps on Saturday when she won the 800-meter freestyle. The 26-year-old Ledecky tied Phelps’ record last Tuesday with a win in the 15-hundred meter freestyle.

(Las Vegas, NV) — Omaha boxer Terence “Bud” Crawford dropped Errol Spencer Jr three times Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena, scoring a ninth-round TKO. Crawford now holds titles from the World Boxing Association, International Boxing Federation, World Boxing Organization and the World Boxing Council, making him the first in the welterweight division to hold all four title simultaneously. Bud now holds a record of 40 wins, zero loses with 31 knockouts.

(Columbus, OH) — Ohio State is gaining a commitment from the son of a late NFL wide receiver. Chris Henry Jr. announced he’s joining the Buckeyes for the 2026 season. The pass catcher is the son of Chris Henry Senior, who died in 2009 after he fell out of a truck during a domestic dispute. He was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the third round of the 2005 draft and spent five seasons with the team. Adam “Pacman” Jones adopted Henry Jr. after being a close friend with his father during their time at West Virginia. Henry Jr. chose Ohio State over Georgia, Clemson and USC.

(Blaine, MN) — Lee Hodges is celebrating his first career PGA TOUR title. Hodges became the first wire-to-wire winner in the history of the 3M Open with a seven-stroke victory at TPC Twin Cities. The 28-year-old finished the tournament 24 under par. JT Poston, Kevin Streelman and Martin Laird finished tied for third place at 17 under. Defending champ Tony Finau finished tied for seventh alongside Aaron Baddeley and Sam Ryder at 15 under par. Up next is the Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro.

(Richmond, VA) — Chris Buescher is claiming a NASCAR Cup Series playoff spot following a win at the Cook Out 400 at Richmond Raceway Sunday. The driver of the number-17 car led 88 laps en route to his third career Cup Series victory. Last week’s HighPoint.com 400 at Pocono Raceway winner Denny Hamlin came in second place while Kyle Busch, Joey Logano and Ryan Preece rounded out the top five finishers. The field will battle at Michigan International Speedway for the FireKeepers Casino 400 next Sunday.
