Local man charged with second-degree assault following road rage incident

A Hopkinsville man is facing a second-degree assault charge following a road rage incident where he reportedly put a gun to someone’s head.

According to the Hopkinsville police report, the victim told officers he was driving east bound in the area of East Parkview Drive and Mosley Drive when he passed a parked car while another vehicle was traveling towards him.  The driver of that car, identified as 20-year-old Famarion Harris of Hopkinsville, apparently became irate and confronted the victim in his driveway.

During the altercation, Harris would allegedly pull out a gun, place a round in the chamber and then place the gun to the victim’s head. He reportedly struck the victim on the left side of his head with the gun before leaving the scene. Two witnesses observed the incident.

Harris was located later on Mosley Drive and reportedly admitted to hitting the victim with the gun. When officers told him he was under arrest, he allegedly began to struggle with officers.

Harris was arrested and charged second-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, resisting arrest and second-degree disorderly conduct.
