A renewed motion for bond modification was denied in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday morning for murder suspect Rudolfo Amaya.
Amaya—who is accused of shooting 43-year-old Dante Welch to death inside his car in March of this year—is represented by public defender Doug Moore, who renewed their motion for bond modification, while informing the court they are currently going through the evidence in the case.
Judge John Atkins denied the verbal motion, saying the Commonwealth has the right to proper notice, but Amaya can file a written motion if he wishes.
A pretrial conference was set for August 16.
A witness reported seeing the incident occur on New Gritton Avenue in March, and the suspected murder weapon was found in Amaya’s home, according to the original Oak Grove Police Department arrest report.
