Vehicle show set to benefit boy’s cancer journey

Cars and motorcycles will be on display at next Saturday’s Dashing to Beat Cancer, car, truck and bike show to benefit 11-year-old Christian County resident Zachary Boyd.

Boyd was diagnosed with a form of bone cancer called Osteosarcoma in March 2022 and the funds from the show will serve to help fund Boyd’s medical and travel expenses. According to event organizer, Ashley Thomas, Boyd has recently completed a week of radiation and is set to restart chemotherapy.

Thomas says the main goal of the event is to surround Boyd with as much love and support as possible while also bringing the community together.

Beyond the car show, the event will have food trucks, facep ainting, bounce houses, a raffle, #zacharystrong shirts on sale and more activities.

The show will be on Saturday, July 29 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 100 Trail of Tears Drive. To attend the event is free, but donations are welcome and to there is a $10 fee to enter a vehicle in the show.
