There is now an enhanced risk for severe weather Tuesday and into the overnight hours for all of western Kentucky, including Christian, Todd and Trigg Counties.
A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued by the National Weather Service in Paducah for Trigg County and counties to the west, with an expansion of that watch possible. Damaging winds and large hail at the primary threats for storms that develop in the late morning hours and into the afternoon.
A second round of storms could develop in the overnight hours into Wednesday, and those could carry the risk of hail and damaging winds, but also heavy rain is anticipated. That could lead to some flash flooding, especially in areas that have numerous storms train over the same locations.
Remember, when encountering flooded roadways, turn around, don’t drown.
Stay tuned to the WHOP Family of Stations for any updates on this developing storm system.
