Details released in Dawson Springs Road crash

Details have been released about the single-vehicle wreck that occurred on Dawson Springs Road Monday afternoon.

According to the wreck report from the Christian County Sheriff’s Department, it happened near the 20 mile marker when 76-year-old Howard King of Crofton was driving a vehicle northbound around 1:40 p.m.  King reportedly had tried to take a drink and drifted over the center line and when he attempted to correct, he over-corrected, causing the vehicle to drop off the side of the roadway.

The vehicle traveled into a ditch, struck an embankment and a barbed wire fence before overturning. King could not remember what happened and was flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for treatment of a possible head injury.

A passenger in the vehicle, 47-year-old Michael King of Crofton, complained of back pain and other injuries, but ultimately refused transport.
