Programming Announcement: Hopkinsville and Christian Co. High School Sports to air on dedicated stations starting this August

WHOP Radio & Digital in Hopkinsville begins a new era in their local sports coverage in 2023.  The WHOP family of stations includes 98.7 Lite FM HD1, 98.7 WHOP-HD2, 98.7 WHOP-HD3, NewsRadio 99.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP, and 95.3 The Farm.  Since 1940, WHOP has broadcast local high school sporting events on their radio stations.  Now, with the addition of their new  station 95.3 The Farm, WHOP will broadcast Christian County High School sports events exclusively on 95.3 The Farm, 953thefarm.com and 98.7 WHOP-HD2. Hopkinsville High School sporting events will air exclusively on NewsRadio 99.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP, whopam.com, and 98.7 WHOP-HD3.

WHOP will continue to broadcast University Heights Academy and Heritage Christian Academy Girls’ and Boys’ basketball games in the winter.  University Heights games will air on NewsRadio 99.3 FM/1230 AM, whopam.com, and 98.7 WHOP-HD3. Heritage Christian Academy games will be broadcast on 95.3 The Farm, 953thefarm.com and 98.7 WHOP-HD2.

WHOP’s first broadcasts of the new football season are on August 18th, as Hopkinsville plays Greenwood at Allen County-Scottsville in the “Backyard Brawl Bowl,” and Christian County plays Franklin-Simpson at Warren East in the “Allen Builders Bowl.”
