Community movement set to host cookout, support students

Hopkinsville’s Ali Malik Movement is preparing for a community summer cookout to support students and families readying themselves for the school year.

Ali Malik Movement member Quentin James says the Movement formed among his fellow Muslim friends that wanted to give back to their community.

For the cookout, James says they are seeking donations from school supplies to food.

Those interested in donating can message James at Qj Shabazz on Facebook.

Free food and drinks, haircuts, cornhole, a water balloon toss, bounce houses, two bike give aways and free school supplies will be provided. The cookout is from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on August 4 at Hopkinsville’s Peace Park. The event is free to everyone.
