Man charged with drug trafficking in Madisonville

The Madisonville Police Department has charged a man with several drug trafficking charges, following a traffic stop on Whittington Drive Saturday.

According to the report, an officer was patrolling on Whittington when a vehicle crossed the center line of traffic and into the officer’s path, nearly causing a collision. A traffic stop was conducted and there was reportedly a strong odor of marijuana coming from the passenger car, and a loaded firearm was in plain sight in the passenger seat.

Contact was made with the driver, Marquise Henderson, who allegedly revealed a pill crusher containing a white powdery substance on his person. A search of the vehicle allegedly revealed a straw with a white powder, a bag containing 60 blue pills and a white rock substance suspected to be methamphetamine, along with loose marijuana and other items of drug paraphernalia, including 19 THC vape pens and a large amount of cash.

Henderson was arrested and charged with trafficking in meth, trafficking in a controlled substance, trafficking in marijuana, carless driving and possession of drug paraphernalia.
