HCC employee identified as deceased in Montgomery Co. investigation

The two people killed in what is being investigated as a murder-suicide have been identified, and one has been identified as a Hopkinsville Community College professor.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, the deceased are 73-year-old Charles Hill and 71-year-old Audrey Evans, who was a math professor at HCC since 1999.  As previously reported, first responders went to a residence on Moore Hollow Road for a welfare check on Hill, who a 911 caller was worried was having a medical issue.

While attempting to make contact with Hill, first responders reported hearing a gunshot and when deputies entered the residence, they found the bodies of Evans and Hill.  Both were found to have gunshot wounds.

Both were transported to the medical examiner’s office for autopsy.

A post from Hopkinsville Community College says they are deeply saddened by the news and had counselors on hand Wednesday to help staff, with additional assistance available in the coming days.
