A trial date has been set for the man accused of shooting Christopher Wortham at a party in Oak Grove in 2020.
Edwin Stewart appeared in the Christian Circuit Court of Judge John Atkins alongside defense attorney Michael Thompson, who requested they set a trial date, though he does intend to keep working towards a resolution in the case.
A trial date was set for November 27, with a pretrial conference set for November 1.
An Oak Grove Police Department arrest warrant that was served in February of 2023 alleges that on July 18, 2020 he assaulted and then shot Christopher Wortham with a handgun. The incident happened outside of a party on Kerri Lane in Oak Grove and Wortham was flown to a Nashville hospital for treatment.
He remains lodged in the Christian County Jail.
