>>NFL Star Alvin Kamara Pleads To Misdemeanor

 

(Las Vegas, NV)  — New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is admitting to his role in last year’s Las Vegas hotel brawl.  He pled no contest to a misdemeanor charge.  In return, Kamara will have to do community service and pay the victim 100-thousand dollars for his medical bills.  The NFL all-star was part of a group of men that beat up Darnell Greene as they left a club.  The end of the court case means the NFL can now discipline Kamara, and a suspension could be coming.

 

>>No Players Selected In NFL Supplemental Draft

 

(Undated)  —  No players were selected in the NFL’s supplemental draft.  ESPN reports Malachi Wideman and Milton Wright were the only two players eligible to be drafted on Tuesday.  Wideman is a wide receiver and was a Tennessee transfer who had 12 touchdowns for Jackson State in 2021.  He was limited to just three catches last season.  Wright is also a receiver who missed last year for academic reasons.  He caught seven touchdowns with Purdue in 2021.  It was the first time in three years the league held a supplemental draft.

 

>>Report: NBA Approves Challenge, Flopping Rules

 

(Undated)  —  Some changes are coming to the NBA ahead of next season.  The Athletic reports the NBA’s Board of Governors has approved two rule changes for the 2023-24 season.  The league will award coaches a second challenge if their first one is successful during games.  The NBA will also adopt a flopping rule, which will award opposing teams a technical foul free throw.  Players who flop will be assessed a non-unsportsmanlike technical, which won’t count towards a personal foul or lead to ejection.

 

>>Nashville SC Hosts Philadelphia Union Tonight

 

(Nashville, TN)  — More mid-week MLS action takes place tonight.  Nashville SC welcomes the Philadelphia Union to GEODIS Park.  The club is coming off a loss to Chicago FC last weekend and is still second in the Eastern Conference with 38 points.  Philly also dropped their last league match to the LA Galaxy and is sixth in the East with 34 points.

 

>>Team USA Set To Face Panama In CONCACAF Gold Cup Semifinals

 

(San Diego, CA)  — The United States is aiming to lock up a spot in the CONCACAF Gold Cup Finals.  The U.S. will play Panama on Wednesday night in the semifinal round at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego.  Team USA defeated Canada 3-2 on penalty kicks in the quarterfinal round in Cincinnati last Sunday.  A win over Panama would set up a match against either Jamaica or Mexico in the Finals at SoFi Stadium on Sunday.

 

>>Wimbledon Day Eight Recap

 

(London)  — Quarterfinals action continues at Wimbledon.  Four-time defending champion Novak Djokovic knocked off seventh-seeded Andrey Rublev in four sets to reach the semifinals.  Djokovic tied Roger Federer with his 46th Grand Slam semifinal appearance.  He will face eighth-seeded Jannik Sinner, who defeated Roman Safiullin in four sets.  On the women’s side, top-seeded Iga Swiatek was upset by Elina Svitolina in a three-set thriller.  American Jessica Pegula was also ousted from the tournament after falling to Marketa Vondrousova in three sets.
