Hopkinsville man charged with wanton endangerment

Hopkinsville police have charged a Hopkinsville man wanton endangerment following an incident on Stanley Street Monday night.

Earlier in the night 62-year-old Talmadge Smith of Hopkinsville allegedly struck his wife’s face leaving visible injuries to the left side of her face and reportedly fired a rifle in his wife’s direction as she was lying in bed. She was not injured.

Smith reportedly resisted arrest which led to HPD officers tasing him. Smith was charged with wanton endangerment in the first degree, assault in the fourth degree and resisting arrest.
