Heat, storm chances return this week

Temperatures will creep back up this week, and with the humidity comes a daily chance for rain and storms—some of which could be severe.

Hydrologist Mary Lamm with the National Weather Service in Paducah says Monday and Tuesday were the cream of the crop this week, but the heat and humidity make a come back starting Wednesday, and that brings a chance of storms with it.

She says the heat index could touch the triple digits back the later half of the week.

Lamm says next week looks warmer than average and has a chance for higher-than-average precipitation.

Things could change quickly with this developing summer storm system, so stay weather aware as you head into the work week.
