Joy Closet director seeks community involvement for summer events

With the school year right around the corner Hopkinsville nonprofit Joy Closet is gearing up for events to close out summer and help students in need prepare for school.

Joy Closet focuses on helping foster care children and children in crisis by providing them need based donated items such as clothing, toys and sanitary products free of cost.

Before the school year starts Founder and Director of Joy Closet Heather Gray is working toward providing students with resources for them to have successful school year with their second annual Back to School Bash.

In order for the event to go as planned Gray is looking to the community for donations.

The Back to School Bash is set for early august before school starts, families can register at joycloset.org. Later in August Joy Closet will be hosting their Banquet Dinner and the banquet serves to raise awareness about the work being done at Joy Closet.

The theme of this year’s banquet is “Growing Hope.”
