Madisonville woman charged with attempted murder after stabbing incident

The Madisonville Police Department has charged a Madisonville woman with attempted murder following an incident on North Seminary Street early Monday morning.

According to a news release, 39-year-old Ashley Stafford of Madisonville unlawfully entered an apartment on North Seminary armed with a knife.  She allegedly yelled, “I am going to kill you” then stabbed the victim, identified was Tabitha Vaughn, multiple times and causing serious injury.

Stafford was arrested and charged with attempted murder, first-degree burglary and first-degree criminal mischief.
