NWS confirms EF-1 tornado caused damage in Lyon, Marshall counties Saturday

The National Weather Service in Paducah has confirmed that it was a tornado that caused damages in Lyon, Marshall and Graves counties on Saturday.

According to the preliminary report, survey teams determined it was an EF-1 tornado with winds of upwards to 90 miles per hour that caused damages to trees, campers and also some structural damages to residences. The length of the path is traveled was approximately 27 miles, and it had a max width of 100 yards.

The twister touched down around 6:30 p.m. near Hickory, Kentucky and caused numerous damages at the Twin Lakes campground in Lyon County.

Luckily, no one was injured during the severe weather event.
