WKSF comes to close for another year with high attendance numbers

The Western Kentucky State Fair saw high numbers in attendance this year, after the nine-day event wrapped up Saturday night.

That was in spite of two evenings where stormy weather threatened, but that didn’t stop attendees from taking advantage the numerous events, activities, rides, petting zoos, and a plethora of other things that were available to do and see and eat at the fair. Fair Board President Brad Hewell says there were 6,728 attendees the final night of the fair, and that brought the overall total to 44,056, a head of last year’s total.

Not only that, but the Fair Board gave away $1,000 to lucky winner William Mellender of Hopkinsville.

That wraps up the Western Kentucky State Fair for another year, but planning is already underway for next year.
