Portions of Christian and Todd counties are in a slight risk for severe weather Thursday, with counties to our north in an enhanced risk.
As the extreme heat moves in the air, it is bringing with it a chance for strong to severe storms, with the National Weather Service in Paducah saying it’s not certain where or when storms where form, though most likely during through morning hours and then again in the heat of the day, if they form at all.
Any storms that do form will carry a risk of damaging winds, large hail and heavy rain. The risk for strong to severe storms continues through Friday.
The Heat Advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. Thursday until Friday night. Some locations could reach their warmest temperatures since 2012.
