The 26-year-old star for the Edmonton Oilers claimed his third MVP award after totaling 64 goals and 153 points this past season. Erik Karlsson of the San Jose Sharks won the James Norris Memorial Trophy, which goes to the NHL’s top defenseman, while Matty Beniers was named the recipient of the Calder, which goes to the game’s top rookie. Baltimore Orioles infielder Jackson Holliday headlines the American League roster and he’s joined by seven other first-round selections. Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Jordan Lawlar leads the National League team, alongside five other first-round picks. In total, 50 players will be featured in the Futures Game, which showcases the league’s top prospects. The seven-inning contest will be played on July 8th at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.

(Undated) — “Coach Prime” is on the road to recovery after successful surgery to fix blood clots in his left leg. Colorado head football coach Deion Sanders used social media to announce the successful surgery on Friday. The Pro Football Hall of Famer also has a blood clot in his right leg that doctors will address in the future. Sanders has been dealing with significant blood flow issues and in 2021 had several surgeries, including the removal of two toes on his left foot. The 55-year-old expects to be on the sideline for Colorado’s season opener against TCU on September 2nd.
