>>NFL To Reinforce Gambling Policy To Players

 

(Undated)  — In the new age of legal sports betting, the NFL is reinforcing its gambling policy to players across the league.  One of the key changes will be that all rookies will now be required to attend mandatory education sessions.  League officials are also set to make the rounds to different team facilities in order to “emphasize and clarify what activities are prohibited.”  The NFL’s gambling policy includes six key rules that are highlighted by not betting on any NFL games, not sharing any team “inside information”, and not participating in any daily fantasy games.  Five NFL players were suspended due to gambling earlier this offseason.

 

>>Report: Tyreek Hill Under Investigation In Miami

 

(Miami, FL)  — Tyreek Hill is once again finding himself in trouble.  According to WPLG-TV in Miami, the Dolphins wide receiver is under investigation on allegations of assault/battery at a Miami Beach marina.  Hill allegedly hit a marina employee during a “disagreement” on Sunday.  The 29-year-old slapped the employee on the back of the head, but the employee has declined to press charges at this time.  In a statement from a team spokesperson, the Dolphins acknowledged the reported incident and is reserving further comment at this time.

 

>>Jack Jones Pleads Not Guilty To Weapons Charges

 

(Boston, MA)  — Patriots cornerback Jack Jones is pleading not guilty after being arraigned to weapons charges in East Boston Municipal Court.  Jones posted 30-thousand-dollars cash bail and is next scheduled to appear in court Friday, August 18th for a probable cause hearing.  The 25-year-old was charged with two counts of the possession of a concealed weapon in a secure area of the airport, possession of ammunition without a firearm identification card, unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm and possession of a large capacity feeding device.

 

>>Rams Sign RB Sony Michel For Second Stint

 

(Thousand Oaks, CA)  — The Rams are bringing back a familiar face to their running backs room.  Los Angeles announced it signed free agent running back Sony Michel on Tuesday.  Michel returns to the Rams after playing the 2021 season with the team and helping LA win Super Bowl 56.  The 28-year-old rushed for 106 yards in 10 games with the Chargers last season.  Michel was drafted by the Patriots in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft and also won a Super Bowl while playing in New England.

 

>>Ryan Tannehill Ranked One Of The Worst Contracts In NFL

 

(Nashville, TN)  — Ryan Tannehill has one of the worst contracts in the NFL.  That’s according to Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay, who says Tannehill also had one of the worst performances of his career in 2022.  Kay said, “After Tennessee traded up to acquire Will Levis near the top of the second round, Tannehill’s starting job could be in jeopardy.”  The veteran quarterback carries a cap hit of 36.6-million dollars.
