Warmer temperatures, isolated thunderstorms possible this week

It’s going to get warmer this week, with isolated thunderstorms possible across the area for the next several days.

In a weather conference call Tuesday morning, Senior Forecaster Keith Cooley with the National Weather Service in Paducah says we could see temperatures reach the low 90’s by the weekend, with a gradual warm trend ongoing during the week, and with that could come some instances of isolated thunderstorms.

He says they’re not expecting dangerous heat or humidity at this time, and no sign of any severe weather either.

Where thunderstorms develop could see heavy rain and gusty winds, but Cooley expects that most of the area will remain dry. Looking into the 8-to-14 day outlook, things are looking cooler than average temperature wise, but possibly higher than average precipitation.
