A Pembroke man who had been battling a brain tumor died over the weekend, but members of the community are forging ahead with a fundraiser to help his family with final expenses.
State Representative Myron Dossett of Pembroke says Tim Downs passed away Saturday night, but the fundraising efforts that were already underway will continue.
Dossett and a group of Downs’ friends are coming together to smoke Boston Butts and whole chickens to sell on June 2.
If you want to purchase a Boston Butt for $45 or a chicken for $12, you can call Dossett or one of the other organizers and make an order ahead of time and orders must be submitted by June 1.
