A Hopkinsville teen was arrested early Thursday morning for an alleged armed robbery at Pennyrile Homes on North Elm Street.
Two suspects robbed a 49-year old man of a campfire lighter at gunpoint outside a Pennyrile Homes residence about 12:30 a.m., according to the incident report.
Hopkinsville police officers found a male matching the description of one of the suspects a short time later in the area of South Kentucky Avenue and the teen allegedly ran when told to stop.
He was soon captured and the arrest citation says the robbery victim’s lighter was found in the suspect’s pocket.
The 16-year old male is charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree fleeing or evading police.
The other suspect remains at large and anyone with information should call HPD at 270-890-1300.
