(Chicago, IL) — The Cardinals had their three-game winning streak snapped with a 10-4 loss to the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. The Cardinals led by two heading into the bottom of the third, but they gave up three runs in the frame and trailed the rest of the way. Nolan Arenado had an RBI triple in the losing effort. Jordan Montgomery fell to 2-and-5 after surrendering six runs on seven hits in five innings. St. Louis is in last place in the NL Central at 13-and-25. The Cardinals travel to Boston to face the Red Sox tomorrow.

(Cincinnati, OH) — The Reds struggled at the plate in a 2-1 defeat to the Mets from Cincinnati. Hunter Greene got saddled with the loss after surrendering both runs on six hits over five-plus innings. Jake Fraley had one of Cincinnati’s two hits and drove in the lone run in the first inning. Cincy fell to 15-and-21 and is still fourth in the NL Central. The Reds will go for the series win this afternoon.
