The ribbon was officially cut at Casey Jones Distillery Thursday afternoon, as they celebrate the completion of their new stillhouse and rickhouse.
The rickhouse is the first barrel storage facility in Hopkinsville since prohibition and it’s already getting it’s use with over 700 barrels sitting on its new shelves. Peg Hayes says it will one day house about 3,200 barrels of aging spirits and with the new stills making product at a faster rate, they’re proud of their expansion.
Master Distiller Arlon Casey Jones says they’ve tried to keep everything local during this process, because supporting local is very important to them.
Cody Turner thanked the staff, saying that as things have changed around the distillery, they’ve really stepped up in learning new things and tackling new challenges.
Attendees were able to take tours and speak with distillers and staff to learn more about the bourbon aging and distilling processes, and how the new additions will help take Casey Jones Distillery into the future.
