Rotary Club of Hopkinsville celebrates, expresses gratitude for successful auction

The Rotary Club of Hopkinsville raised over half a million dollars during the 73rd WHOP Rotary Radio Auction and they are thanking the community for its ongoing, tremendous support of this endeavor.

The auction raises funds mainly to benefit local students by providing scholarships that pay for two years of learning at Hopkinsville Community College, and Auction Chair Brandon Killebrew says it would not be possible without the community, from those who donate items to those who donate to the Hour Club.

The Hour Club was again the big money raiser this year, bringing in roughly $363,000 on its own, and the auction itself saw 762 items sold, raising just under $123,000. Killebrew says the Goat Club had a resurgence this year, raising around $1,100 for the cause.

In total, the 73rd Rotary Auction—which had the theme of “Making An Impact”—raised $523,671.55.  Paired with a record amount of $536,000 the year before, it makes for over a million dollars raised to benefit local students in the last two years.
